Crowdsourcing
One example of crowdsourcing is the Local-Motors Rally Fighter. The company sent out a request to have people submit ideas for a new rally car. They came up with the Rally Fighter a car with a a Ford

WASTELAND
Over the course of about a week in our rogate class we watched a video called WASTELAND. This documentary was about an artist who traveled to the world's largest landfill called Jardim Gramacho. This massive landfill takes up an entire island on the outskirts of Rio de Janiero, In the landfill there are people who make a living by picking out recycling. The artist's name was Vik Munez, his mission raise awarness and money for the the pickers. I thought it was a very powerful documentrary and it was sad wahat these people were going through to survive. this documentery really made me think about how much garbage we produce ion a daily basis, it also made conserve and uses less.

Photo essay
Today we looked at photo essays in class. I think it was sad how poor the conditions were for the child coal miners. they had no safety equipment what so ever.

LIFE IN A DAY
Earlier this week our ROGATE class watched a documentary called Life in a Day. This documentary is about life in July 24 2010. I feel that the most memorable scene was when the goat was being lead to slaughter and they held the knife up to its neck. The love parade made me have a negative reaction to the scene because there were people getting trampled to death. The guy biking around the world made me have a positive reaction because he was trying to reunite Korea. A juxtaposition was when the family living in the little clay hut in a cemetery was put next to a guy who had the luxury of watering his lawn in Dubai with a nice house. I think they did a good job on the video and would strongly recommend it to a friend.

3 influential people
Derrick Rossi
This man has advanced the medical field very far. He has figured out how to rid stem cells of bad genes like cancer making they more effective for transplant. This will be able to save a lot of people and maybe be able to lead to the cure for cancer.
Matt Damon and Gary White
These actors decided that instead of using their money for drugs or blowing it in casinos, they would help the people in other countries. They accomplished this by creating water.org, they are now supplying clean water systems to third world players.
General David Petraeus
General David has help us in the war dramatically. he has used tactics and strategies to drive the Taliban back from their bases in Afghanistan. He is the comanding officer overseas in Afghanastan.
